Bird of the Day

Bird Blog (click this link) I would like more conversation around the birds. I learn all kinds of things every day that I would like to share with you, and I know that you have comments and questions. So let’s do it. I have another blog page on this website that deals with the everyday business of being human, and it’s all good, if that’s what you want to talk about, or not. But this is just for the birds!

Common Yellowthroat

I like to call these little guys my uncommon Common Yellowthroats. I understand that their range is large, but they are elusive. I don’t see them very often. They live near swampy areas, and I don’t.

Bird of the Day is an email list that I keep that displays each day, a wild bird that I have photographed with a short description of what it is and where I saw it. Most, but not all, of the photos come from my travels around my home on Whidbey Island. The list started early in 2018, when a couple of family members and friends were struggling with personal crisis in their lives. I offered to send them bird pictures to help relieve their distress. Others learned of the Bird of the Day and joined the list. As of this writing, there is now 390 Birders of the Day and climbing.

If you wish to be on the list all I need is your email. The list is free.
